"Tiny Bubbles....."

So here I am sitting with Katelyn and watching a movie when Myles walks in to tell me, "I don't know what's wrong with Brayden, but he's in the bathroom crying and there's bubbles coming out of his nose."

The impression that I got was that he wasn't responding because Myles said that Brayden wouldn't talk to him -- he was just crying. Now I'm concerned: I'm not hearing him cry and there's some kind of bubbles coming out of my son's nose.

So, I rushed to the bathroom and now I'm hearing Brayden start to scream. Sure enough, there he is standing in front of the toilet with his pants down and bubbles coming out of his nose.

I took him to the kitchen where I could see better and tried to calm him down. He was finally able to point to Myles indicating that the bubbles came from him. Finally, I asked Myles, "What happened? How did Brayden get bubbles in his nose and why was there a bottle of baby shampoo on the bathroom floor?"

Well, come to find out Brayden (for who knows what reason) ASKED Myles to put the shampoo in his nose! What?! Why?! I tried to ask, but all I could get out of Brayden was, "I didn't think it would hurt."

Boys will be boys....What's next?

Quote of the Day

I can tell McKenzie has been hanging around her cousins when:

She's in the bathroom the other day with me and she whispers, "I can't go out the door...there's bad guys out there."

I asked her, "Who're the bad guys?" thinking that she would say Brayden or one of her cousins.

Instead she said, "Um....Clones."

Now, she has never seen Star Wars, but she has seen the boys playing the games on XBox, so I thought that was pretty funny.

Don't ya love 2 year olds?!

"This is Halloween, This is Halloween...."

Well, our camera broke and we just recently had it replaced (courtesy of Sears), so there are NO pictures from September, but here are the kids getting ready for Halloween. We had a great time at Trunk or Treat!

I know, I know....

So it's been how long since I updated this blog? OK, here goes:

First up is vacation picture from August! Sorry it took so long....

We visited Mike, Melissa and kids in Utah:

Then we visited Grandma and Grandpa in Grass Valley. While there, we went on a hike, to the river, the lake, Old Town and Fairy Tale town.

ohmygosh!

Wow here we are in the middle of August and I haven't posted anything! We have been so busy trying to get ready for vacation and trying to get ready for Mike, Melissa and Family that I haven't had time for posts. Anyway, we have been trying to organize and clean for the past week.....Trying to make space for 10 people in the house is a little crazy!

Let's see....what else is new? Well, McKenzie just got her "big girl bed." We had to re-arrange her room twice because it just looks so big in her room that I didn't know what to do..... Everything is arranged now, and it looks pretty good.

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, so you all will just have to wait for vacation pics when we get back in September. Have I mentioned that we have never had a two week vacation before?! I am so excited for time off of work, that I can hardly contain myself!

See ya later!

Logic?

Here is the conversation Brayden and McKenzie had this morning while they were playing "waa waa", otherwise known as "house" to us normal people:

Brayden: "Mommy [that's McKenzie] who's going to babysitter me?"

McKenzie: "Jesus."

Brayden: "No, silly girl....Jesus is in Heaven!"

McKenzie: "Oh, OK. Then Leesha [Alisia]."

So, Alisia was the "babysitter" in their game of pretend for the rest of the morning.

Mason came in laughing hysterically to tell me about this. They crack me up!

Shake, shake, shake!

Yes, we had an earthquake today around 1145. It was centered in Chino Hills and was a 5.4. I was at work and one of my "tough guy" police officers ran for the doorway and wouldn't move until ALL of the shaking stopped. It was pretty funny. Anyway, everyone is ok here....not even too much damage in Chino. The phone lines did get overloaded (even cell phones). So take note -- don't try to call your family after an earthquake. Wait for them to call you!

Independence Day!

So, we went to Santee for the Fourth of July this year. We saw the awesome 80's band that plays every year there. We had a really fun time with our friends and family. Of course, McKenzie fell asleep during the concert while dancing with Grandma. We woke her up so she could see the fireworks. They were great!

Brayden Parker

OK, so I couldn't possibly put up a post just about McKenzie, and not do one about Brayden... Here's his latest pics. For those of you who don't know, Brayden recently started going to a modeling/acting class at John Robert Powers. I was a little nervous about what he would think, but he loved it! He had to memorize a "comercial" for his first class, and he did a great job, so they gave him another one. This latest won is about Skippy peanut butter, but he keeps saying, "Skimpy" peanut butter.... It's pretty funny. I'll try and get a video of him doing it to post.

McKenzie Noelle

McKenzie has been such a cutie lately. She's really developing her personality and starting to come out of her shell. The other day, she wanted to just take pictures, so here's what we came up with:

And here's what I mean by she's coming out of her shell... I caught her on video doing "Ring Around the Rosies." A few weeks ago, she NEVER would have done this on camera!

The San Diego County Fair -- Summer of Sports

Last Saturday, we went to the San Diego County Fair. The kids had a blast! We got to see the flowers:

Be an Olympic Althlete:
Ride some rides:
Play horse shoes:
Learn how to play chess:
Brayden won first place in the potato sack race!

Then, at the end of the day, we took the kids to the Doodlebops concert! We sat front and center (it was sooooooo hot that day). The kids had so much fun... I had to get McKenzie dancing on video (at the risk of my camera being confiscated -- no videos, etc allowed).

Wow! Where Did The Time Go?!

I can't believe it's been so long since I posted anything! Well, here are some updates:

Brayden started and finished his first "season" of indoor soccer. It was 6 weeks and they played 10 games. His team won ONE whole game; but they had fun, so that's all that matters. Brayden really enjoyed being goalie:

Mike, Melissa and the kids came to visit us for a few days in April... That was a lot of fun. We went to Legoland and just hung out at the house a little. The kids really enjoyed having their cousins around. They really miss them, and are always asking when we get to go to "Auntie's house." We can't wait to go to Utah in August! Here are some cute pics of their visit:

We went to Sea World and got annual passes! Last year, we did Disneyland (which we really miss by the way), so we thought we'd try something different. The kids had never been, and we are looking forward to spending many summer days there this year:

Oh, and I can't forget the most important news of the month (get ready to brace yourselves).......

MCKENZIE ATE A VEGETABLE! And not just any veggie either, but a GREEN one!

And to finish up, we have had the strangest weather. Two weeks ago, it was HOT! I put up the pool and let the kids play for a couple of hours outside. This is what they looked like after:

Then last week, it was cool and drizzly. We had a beautiful full rainbow. It was so big, I couldn't get the whole thing on the camera, so here's a sample:

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the massive update, and I'll try to be better about it next month.
